Bride awaiting the bridegroom 2 Corinthians 11:2-4

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.
2 CORINTHIANS 11:   I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
You and I will be/we are the bride of Christ. Our love for Christ should be a pure love as a bride who saves her love for one man only. (verse 2)
The Corinthians pure and simple deotion to Christ was being threatened by false teaching, much as we are today.  Paul did not want the believers to lose their single-minded love for Christ.  Keeping Christ first in our lives can be difficult when there are so many distractions threatening to sidetrack our faith.
Eve lost her focus, listened to the serpent, and we, too, can lose focus and let our lives become overcrowded and confused.  What hurdle weakens your commitment to keeping Christ first?
The Corinthians were fall for the smooth talk and messages that sounded good and seemed to make sense.  Today, we have men in the pulpit that do not believe in the crucifixion and teach a doctrine that is pleasing to our ears, yet NOT THE TRUTH!!!
The Bible should be our authoritative guide.  Anything you hear should be tested by the WORD.  Because your pastor or deacon said it, DOES NOT MAKE IT TRUE!  It is your job to search out the truth through the WORD. Are you?
Let the Holy Spirit be your guide; study the WORD, and follow Jesus' teachings. Love you all.

The wedding feast has been prepared! Are you ready? Matthew 22:2-14

Good morning all.  God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!
I woke this morning with Matthew 22: 3-11 coming to me over and over.  I know not why, maybe this is for me; maybe for one of you. Just pray about this and that God's will be done.
In the ancient culture, two invitations were expected when banquets were given.  The first asked the guests to attend, the second announced that all was ready.  In the study of Matthew 22 the king invited his guests three times and each time they rejected the invitation.  God wants us to join him at his banquet, which will last for eternity.  That's why he sends us invitations again and again.
Matthew 22: (the parable of the wedding dinner by Jesus) The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.
But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
Here is the part that jolted me and I have to reflect. Verses 11-12.  It was customary for wedding guests to be given wedding clothes to wear to the banquet.  It was unthinkable to refuse to wear these clothes.  That would insult the host, who could only assume that the guest was arrogant and thought he didn't need these clothes, or that he did not want to take part in the wedding celebration.
The wedding clothes picture the righteousness needed to enter God's kingdom - the total acceptance in God's eyes that Christ gives every believer.  Christ has provided these clothes of righteousness for everyone, but each person must choose to put them on in order to enter the King's banquet (aka eternal life).  There is an open invitation, but we must be ready.
  Matthew 22:
11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
Do you accept or have you accepted the invitation?  Love you all.

James 3:8 - The tongue doeth do evil; Psalm 34:13 Gossip

Well, good morning.  I was writing and suddenly it all went away so here I go again. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!
If we would all stop for 60 seconds at 8 p.m. and say a quick prayer for America, our president and leaders - America can be made great again!! Try it. 8 p.m. is at the end of one t.v. show and just before another begins. 60 seconds - will you?
James 3:8 "But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison."
The tongue will spread lies, however, there would be no lies if it were not for the truth!  Huh?  What are you talking about?  How do we get lies, really?  Usually some event has happened, then someone comes along and then either does not tell the complete truth, OR, adds to the truth.
Example:  I saw Johnny with a younger woman I don't know.  Now, the real truth would be that Johnny was having lunch with one of his daughters, but the person seeing him does not know the daughters. Soooooo, there begins the rumor mill.
I saw Johnny with a young woman.  Then, Johnny is seeing a younger woman. And then, Johnny is having an affair with a younger woman.  Do you see how this can snowball.  Are the people lying?  At first, no- as they do see him with a younger woman.  But what happens after that?  The story is not good enough and our minds tend to run amuck or towards evil thoughts.  Then you never know where this will end.
Again, without truth, there are no lies.  Do you see the point here?  Yes, Johnny was having lunch with a younger woman, ---- but, get all the details before you allow the lying tongue to continue.
Psalm 34: 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Oh, how if we would do this wouldn't the world be grand!!!  Take time to examine yourself - -  Is your tongue untamed and full of poison?  Are you speaking evil and guile?  If so, what is your next step?  If you hear this, what is your next action - to repeat or to question and repeal?  Hmmm!  Food for thought for the day.
May your day be filled with love, mercy, and honesty and your tongue be bridled. Love you all.

Reaching out to others - what does scripture say?

Good morning to my brothers and sisters in Christ.  God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!!
No Christian should ever feel that he or she is totally alone or independent and needs no help from others.  Also, no one, (Christian) should ever feel that he/she does not need to help others.
The body of Christ, the Church, or as in ancient days - "the way", functions well when the members work together for the common good.  Do you know someone who needs help?  Who needs an encouraging word? Who just needs a brother/sister in Christ to listen?
When the occasion arises we should reach out, whether in prayer, an encouraging word, to listen, or to just be with them, this is where God would want us to be.  Also, we need to be steadfast in God's Word and if that brother or sister needs correction we should do so, yet in a humble and loving way.
Reach out and see if you can help lighten the load, the burden, your brother/sister in Christ is carrying.  Stop what you are doing and pray or lend a hand.  How often do we just say "I'll pray for you and forget"; QUIT - Stop and pray with them at that very time.  Words for the day - REACH OUT!  Love you all. Here are some scriptures to help encourage you to REACH OUT!

Galatians 6:2 King James Version  Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
JOHN 15: 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
HEBREWS 13: 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. 1 THESSALONIANS 5: 11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
1 PETER 4: And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
PHILIPPIANS 2:4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others
May these be words of encouragement to you all.

Proverbs 18:4, 8

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!
Proverbs 18, as do all Proverbs offers great advice.  Today I wish to look at 18:4 and 18:8
4: The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.
8: The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Verse 4 my study Bible says: "Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook."
How oft do we listen to the words of the wise, yet fail to heed them.  A young lady was told by her father that if she would listen to him, he would save her a lot of trouble and misery.  The daughters answer was, "Dad, sometimes you just have to experience it for yourself."
How many times are we this way with God?  He directs us, yet we "want to experience it" ourselves.  Wise words run deep, wisdom flows and we need to heed the wisdom of our elders and spirit filled people God places in our path.
Now, in contrast, verse 8 from my study Bible" Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one's heart."
What this is saying is it is as hard to refuse to listen to rumors and gossip as it is to turn down a delicious dessert.  Taking just one morsel of either one creates a taste for more.  You can resist rumors the same way a determined dieter resists candy -- never even open the box.  If you don't nibble on the first bite of gossip, you can't take the second, the third, etc.
A friend from New York says he believes all things told him to be baloney until he finds out for himself.  This could be good advice for us all.  I, often, take what I have read or heard on the radio and jump quickly to believe it if it aligns with my thinking.  Oh, how wrong I am, and am working to correct this niche in my armour.  Don't open that box of iniquity - leave the lid on and follow God's leading.
Thanks for reading, Love you all.

If today was your last day------Who would be your FIRST RESPONDER?

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!
What if today was your last day?  If you indeed knew today was the last day of your finite life-----what would you do?
Of course we don't know when the end will come. An earthquake, a tsunami, a hurricane, a heart attack, a car wreck, and much much more could happen anytime. Would you be ready?  Would you be calling on God?  Would your first line of attack be the first responders?  OR, would God be your first responder?
2 Samuel 22:4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Call on the LORD!  Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.
We can call on the LORD to be with us always.  Moses, when leading the children of Israel out of Egypt went up to Mt. Sinai and was there with God.  After Jesus came, our Mt. Sinai is with us always, we can call upon God no matter where we are, no matter what we are doing, no matter the circumstances - HE IS WITH US!
Each day, each moment needs to be our "NISAN" (meaning the beginning of a new year; The word Nisan (נִיסָן) itself might come from either the word nitzan (נִצָּן), meaning "bud", or the word nissim (נִסִּים) meaning "miracles," both of which suggest physical and spiritual ).  A bud is the beginning of a new year, both physical and spiritual.
May this moment in time be your Nisan, your new beginning with the LORD. And, may each moment thereafter be you Nisan.  I do pray you are able to follow my thought pattern. Love you all.

Micah 5:2 Bethlehem Ephratah

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!
Many things are in the Bible and unless it is pointed out or studied we pass right over it and never know what it says or means.  Last week I was visiting with a young lady who grew up in church, yet did not know that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were called the 4 gospels.  As I said, many things go untold or not taught at all.
So often we just sit in church, doing our "duty" to God by being in church; listen to the preacher, then go on our merry way.  This is not what God has called us to do.  I am going to refer to Micah 5:2 and Luke 22:14-20 today.
In Hebrew the word for bread is lechem.  Peree hagafen means fruit of the vine.  Now this is what Jesus tells us to do in remembrance of Him; communion. The breaking of bread and sharing of the wine.
Lechem represents the bread or body of Christ and Peree represents His blood. Now comes the question -  When did He first appear in flesh and blood?
Interesting, Jesus was born in Bethlehem - which means the Place of Lechem or the House of Bread.  In Micah 5:2 you will find Bethlehem Ephratah.  Ephratah come from the same word from which we get peree or blood.  Sooo, Jesus' body and blood was first revealed at 'BETHLEHEM EPHRATAH' .  Where Jesus first appeared in the flesh and blood bears the name of the symbols of His flesh and Blood.  Wow!!!

The life of a butterfly - 4 stages : Are you as a butterfly

Hello All, God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!!
A butterfly goes through 4 stages to become the beautiful miracle that God did create.  We, just as the butterfly have to go through stages to become the mirror of Christ.
A butterfly lays eggs on a leaf (stage 1), as the eggs mature they become a caterpillar (stage 2). Now caterpillars eat a lot and grow quickly, shedding their skin numerous times. Okay, what is stage 3?
Stage three is the chrysalis (pupa).  This is the resting stage for the caterpillar. This is the time the caterpillar starts changing into a butterfly.  Depending on the butterfly for some it is a month, for others it may take close to a year.  Nothing the less, it is developing into something beautiful.
Then comes stage 4, when the butterfly comes out.  It is tired from fighting to get out of the chrysalis and rests until blood is pumped through its body and wings.  Then it will take flight.
Now you are saying how is this supposed to relate to our Christian walk.  Well, stage 1, we are just eggs and trying to develop.  This is our infancy in Christ. We are growing and learning about Jesus. We may be but a child or we may be an adult when this happens.
Stage 2 - we are the caterpillar - we have been BORN AGAIN!  Do not marvel that I said to you, “You must be born again.” – John 3:7 And, as the caterpillar, once we are born again we become hungry for the WORD- the Word of God. As a new follower of Christ there is a desire within you to want to know Him. The power of God is now working in you (Romans 1:16).
Then we hit stage 3--This is where we begin imitating Jesus Christ. YES, we have been born again, our sins are forgiven, and we show the love and obedience to God as did Jesus.  1 Peter 2:21 For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in his steps.
2 Corinthians 3:18 "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the LORD, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the LORD, the Spirit. We are the caterpillar, eating up the Word, soaking in as much as possible, growing in Christ so we may move into stage 4.
Stage 4- This is when the butterfly is out of the Chyrsalis and becomes the "butterfly" to spread beauty all around.  Sooo, this is when we start spreading the beauty of Jesus Christ coming to earth and spreading His beauty among us.  Sharing the word. We are now the butterfly, laying eggs, and helping to develop the kingdom of God.
Yes, it is our time to evolve out of the caterpillar stage, out of the chrysalis, and into the butterfly stage.  Go about sharing the Word about the kingdom.
 MARK 16: (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Which path do you take in your travels? Isaiah 40:3-5

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!
When we set out on a journey we have a goal to reach a certain place. Now some will go straight there and some will meander.
For instance, if you are going to work which is 20 minutes away and you have 25 minutes to get there you will not appreciate coming to a detour in the road.  You would prefer to go straight there.
However, if your work is 20 minutes away and you had planned to stop at a couple of places on the way, you would leave earlier and the stops won't bother you.
Now, what about the heavenly path we anticipate; the celestial venture we will eventually take; what directions do you want to take there?
Isaiah 40: A voice of one calling:“In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

As we cavort through life we tend to be as tall grass and bend whichever way the wind blows. Yes, we live in the world, a world of sin and darkness, yet with God's help and our obedience we can keep the path of righteousness, we can make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
How do we do this?  We stay in the word daily-have a Bible devotional or daily scripture reading.  We pray continually, this does not mean on your knees in a dark closet, God hears you in your mind and listens.
When we do follow God diligently, making straight our path, and not letting the winds of the world blow us off course, then, as in Isaiah 40:4 Every valley shall be raised up,every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
Think about the "dash" on your head stone.  You know Jan. 1, 1950 - Jan 1. 20??,  What will your "dash" say - He/She was a God fearing and godly person; or he/she was a real rounder?
Just food for thought and just so you know I am speaking to myself when I post.  Please pray for me as I for you.  Love you all.

Traveling to a place beyond? What type of currency will you take?

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!!
Okay, if your were going to Mexico you would exchange your American dollars for pesos. If you were going to Italy you would exchange for Euros. Wherever you are going you would exchange what you have for their currency.
Now, let's talk about the riches you have laid up in store for yourself.

Matthew 6: 19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Are you hoarding and keeping all your MATERIAL GOODS?  And for what? No, God does not want you to squander the riches he has given you, be a good steward of what you have; however, what are you laying up for your self in heaven, where is your treasure?  Is your heart there also?  Invest in your celestial currency each moment you live.
Matthew says it all, I can say nothing better. Take this to heart. Love you all.

Forgiveness - How great a weight is lifted

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!!
Well, we are the slow ones to go see the movie "I can only imagine", and if you have not seen it, it will bring tears to your eyes.  Great, great movie!
What is forgiveness?  Definition: Forgiveness is the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, lets go of negative emotions such as vengefulness, with an increased ability to wish the offender well
Many times we hang on to the bitter feelings, think "I will get even", even to the extent we may wish something bad will happen to someone to has treated us badly or done us wrong.
In all four Gospels, Jesus notes the importance of forgiving others to ensure God's forgiveness.
Matthew 6: 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Colossians 3: 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Luke 17:So watch yourselves.“If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”
Ephesians 4: 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
1 John 1: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, may you forgive and be forgiven.  We don't necessarily forget, but can forgive and allow the heavy burden to be lifted from our shoulders.  May this be your great day of forgiveness. Love you all.

Interesting parallel - Jesus and Isaac

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!!
During my study of the Bible I came across this interesting parallel of Jesus and Isaac. Before going there, the Koran 37:97-111 believes the akedah or binding was of Ishmael not Isaac. (Just a side note for your information)
The akedah is considered the binding as in binding for sacrifice in Genesis 22 with Abraham and Isaac.  I will paraphrase from my commentaries what follows.
First, God was testing Abraham in telling him to offer up Isaac as the sacrifice.  A father offering up his son as sacrifice, which God did in the New Testament.  Okay, here are the parallels:
The father brings his son on a donkey - Abraham took a donkey and Isaac and left for the place of sacrifice:  Jesus takes and rides a donkey to the place of sacrifice.
The father (Abraham) places the wood of the sacrifice on his son's shoulder
God would place the wood of the sacrifice, the cross, on Messiah's shoulders
The son carried the wood up the mountain to the place of the sacrifice
Messiah carries the wood (cross) to the place of the sacrifice
The father lays his son upon the wood and binds him to it
The Messiah is laid on the wood of the cross and bound to it
The father lifts up the knife of sacrifice but is stopped (a ram is then offered in sacrifice)
Messiah is sacrificed or killed on the wood.
What you see here is the love of a father for the son; yet being obedient to the heavenly father.  Abraham was obedient and had great love for Isaac. God tested Abraham, then gave him a sacrificial ram and spared Isaac.  God has a great love for the people, you and me.
God gave us a sacrificial lamb, Jesus, Messiah, to die for us and allow us to live in eternity with Him.
This may not be much or seem much to you, however, it was quite interesting to me, and as I study I see more and more parallels from the Old Testament to the New Testament. Hope this did not bore you today.  Read Genesis 22 for the story of Abraham and Isaac.  Thank you for reading. Love you all.

p.s. Isaac was thought to be about 37 when this happened. ????

The first day of the week - Luke 24:1 / Matthew 28:1

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!!'
Well, Easter is over and many, too many people saw it as a 3 or 4 day holiday, a long weekend.  Jesus who?  Many either don't know or could not even care.
Now Jesus has been crucified and buried and Luke 24: 1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
Matthew 28:1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
Today is the day they went to the tomb, to the empty tomb, and Jesus had risen. A little history here quickly. Old testament the high priest would take 2 lamb to be sacrificed, then they would cast lots - one would be set free and the other sacrificed for the sins of the people.  When Jesus went to the trumped up trial by the high priest and stood before Pilot, Pilot presented an option to the people.
Now remember, less than a week before, Christ rode a donkey into Jerusalem (Palm Sunday) and all the people were hailing Him, cheering on Jesus.  Now, with the help of the Sanhedrin and High Priest, Caiaphas,  the people are ready to punish him, crucify Him.  Pilot sees no crime and wants to get out of this, so, he presents and option, the option to set someone free. Could it be Jesus or Barabbas?
Now in Aramaic barabba means"son of the father," or "son of the master." And, we know that Jesus is THE son of the father or THE son of THE master.  Now, what a comparison between the two- one with sin (a murderer) and the other sinless.  We have two sons, or 2 lambs if you will, that are being offered up. One to be set free and one to be offered for the sins of the people.  The people at this time are unaware that Jesus is the true Messiah, the Shepherd of the flock of Jews.  With the rallying of the people by the high priest and Sanhedrin they call for the release of Barabbas and crucify Jesus.  Wow!
Well, back to the two Mary's, when they reached the tomb what happened? The stone was rolled back, the tomb was empty, and an angel whose appearance was like lightening and clothes white as snow sat upon the stone.  Now the tough guys, the guards, were frozen with fear and the angel spoke to the two women telling them not to be afraid.  He gave them instructions to go and tell the disciples that Jesus would meet them in Galilee. On their return they met Jesus, who greeted them with a friendly greeting, kind of like, "hi, what's up" style.  Jesus re-emphasized what the angel said telling them to tell the disciples to meet him in Galilee.  Wow!!!
Today is the day!  The first day of the week (some will say Sunday, some Monday) but we must be remindful of the events that occurred and why they are important.  Jesus is ALIVE!  The tomb is empty!  Our saviour LIVES!  Jesus is our SHEPHERD!  John 10:11-16  JESUS IS OUR SHEPHERD.
Too many thoughts steaming through my mind today, I do hope you followed the main idea of the text.  There was an empty tomb, our saviour lives, and salvation comes only through Him, Jesus Christ.  Love you all.
