Walk with the Wise

Hello All. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

In a devotional I receive daily this one I thought was very appropriate and the timing is perfect.  We all need to heed this advice.  This is by Diana Kerr of Grace Moments.  She did a great devotional and hope you enjoy. Love y'all.

Walk with the wise
by Diana Kerr

You’ve probably heard the saying that goes something like this: “You are the sum total of the five people you spend the most time with.” It’s basically a modern version of Proverbs 13:20: “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”

You will become like the people you hang out with, for better or worse. Yeah, you can blame your friends for your screwups, but maybe you need to blame yourself for hanging around those friends in the first place.

Remember when you were a kid and your parents had strong opinions about the friends who were “bad news”? Well, now you’re an adult—you get to choose your friends on your own, no parental opinions involved. Just remember that there are consequences to those choices. Do you want friends who will cause you to compromise your values or friends who will strengthen your values? Do you want friends who will make you timid about bringing faith into a conversation or friends who challenge your faith and its presence in your life? Do you want friends who will make it easy for you to stray from God or friends who won’t allow you to stray?

Don’t be shy in asking God for help in surrounding yourself with friends who will make you wise in his ways. And a little hint about the five people you spend the majority of your time with: Make Jesus one of those five people.

What a great world we live in! Created by GOD!

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  May you have a wonderful, safe, and blessed weekend.

   Psalm 8:
When I consider your heavens,
    the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?

We serve an awesome GOD. Just remember HIM this weekend when enjoying family and friends.  Take time to admire the beauty HE set forth in this world.  Love you all.

Are you a prisoner in Christ? Ephesians 3:1; Philemon 1:9; 2 Timothy 1:8

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  YOU ARE BLESSED!!

Have you ever thought about this----that you can, should be, and are a prisoner of Jesus Christ.  This is what Paul says frequently:  Ephesians 3:1; Philemon 1:9; 2 Timothy 1:8; and then in Philippians 1 he says servants of Jesus Christ.
What does this mean?  Is this real for us as well?  Paul spent a lot of time in prisons for things he was accused of but did not do.  So, he was definitely in a jail, in prison, BUT, he referred to himself as a prisoner of Jesus Christ.  Why?  Jesus had no bonds on him, no chains, no stockades, nothing to denote Paul was a prisoner of JESUS CHRIST.
The reason he was a prisoner of Jesus Christ was the fact Paul was totally devoted to Jesus and what Jesus came to earth for-----to save the world.
No longer would Paul be free to come and go as he pleases according to his own wants and desires, but would abide in Jesus Christ is such a way as to have his comings and goings directed by God.
Wow!! What a testimony!  Can you say this, that you are 'A PRISONER OF JESUS CHRIST'?  I certainly cannot.  I do strive to be better and a closer follower of Jesus, but sometimes self or the world get in the way and I backslide (as the Baptist would say).
Here is a challenge - let us all pray about being a prisoner of Jesus Christ and following God's direction for our lives.  Take time to pray quietly, and then LISTEN to what God is telling us.  Thanks for reading. Love you all.

Is today your "JUDAS" Day? Hmmm!

Good afternoon all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!

Have you ever thought about this?  This may be your JUDAS Day?  What do you mean, Judas Day?  Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.  How often do we betray Jesus, the Word, God when we are in the world.  Not for 30 pieces of silver, but  maybe not sharing the word when the Holy Spirit nudged you.  Maybe talking about (gossiping) about someone and betraying their trust.  What was your Judas today? Oh, certainly, you did not get 30 pieces of silver, but did you get satisfaction when you................? Gossiped, lied, deceived, failed to share the Good News, lusted, had road rage, or what?
Look at Matthew 26: 14 Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot—went to the chief priests 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
Look for key words in the following passages We go to Proverbs 11, verses 11-15 we see:  11 Through the blessing of the upright a city is exaltedbut by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed. 12 Whoever derides their neighbor has no sense, but the one who has understanding holds their tongue. 13 A gossip betrays a confidencebut a trustworthy person keeps a secret.14 For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.
Here we see the mouth, belittling, gossip all betray what God is teaching us.  To be victorious we must have leaders, advisers who give us guidance through many troubled waters.  It is time for the spiritual leaders of our homes, our churches, our city, state, and nation to stand up for God's word with unfaltering confidence.  Where do you stand?  As Judas - the betrayal way; OR, as JESUS and stand tall during times of peril? Let the stand against the world and evil leaders begin with you.  STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD / #PRAY!!!
Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Ever need to preach to yourself! I did today!!!

Good morning all.  God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!

Just a note:  WORRY is like being in a rocking chair----it gives you something to do, BUT, it gets you nowhere and solves nothing.
Well, Today a devotional came in and the scripture hit me right between the eyes!  Bam!!!  a T.K.O.!!!  Here it is, take time to meditate on it and do some reflections of self:
Ephesians 4: 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Any questions?  Ask your heavenly FATHER!!! Love you all.

Words from GOD, Words from JESUS! Time for self reflection!!!!

Good morning!  A great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!  God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Psalm 85: I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace unto His people and to His saints; but let them not turn again to folly.
  John 11: 25 Jesus said unto her, “I am the resurrection and the Life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;

26 and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Words to meditate on, focus on, and not pass off lightly.  Love you all.

We have a "GRAVE" situation in America and the World

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!!

Well, we have had a 'grave' issue in America since George Washington to Joe Biden.  So often we think of grave and an important and serious issue.  Well, that is true, however, a "grave situation" that overlies any other is the GRAVE.  I am talking about the one in the ground, when we die, when our human body does cease to exist.
Allow me to explain further.  We all exist in this world doing our own thing, usually caring not what others do unless it offends or bothers us.  The biggest threat we have is knowing the Word, the Bible, and not doing anything about it. "Oh, yeah, I know Jesus. He's my savior."  Then we carry one and forget about spreading the word and telling others about Jesus.
This is the GRAVE issue; when you die, when I die, when our loved ones die there is no second chance.  When any of us go to the GRAVE we are either going to HEAVEN or going to HELL!   There is no other option.
So, the GRAVE issue is this:  "Have you told your loved ones about JESUS?  Have they accepted JESUS as their savior?  Are they studying the Bible and growing in the WORD?  God tells us we must study, know the word, and spread or share the word.
Jesus tells us in John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled. Ye believe in God; believe also in Me.
Jesus wants us all to be with him.  John 14: In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.
I believe it is important you read John 14 (click link).  If you have not had a serious conversation with your spouse, children, relatives, friends or neighbors IT IS TIME!!
I leave you to meditate and think about John 14: Jesus said unto him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.
ARE YOU READY?  IS YOUR FAMILY READY? Make certain, approach them. Yes, it is scary and may not be comfortable but do you want family, friends or neighbors to burn in hell?  Love you all.

What are we to do in this time of peril?

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

So many things happening in this world that concerns Christians and so often, too often we talk about it among ourselves and then do nothing.  Well, first of all prayer is our greatest weapon of war against evil.  Then, we need to remember who reacts to our prayers --- G O D !!!
Here are some scriptures for you to read and meditate on.
1 Chronicles 20:12b For we are powerless against the great horde that is coming against us.  We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Take time to think about these scriptures.  We live in a time of turmoil and a land of evil.  It is important we turn our faces to heaven, talk to GOD, repent and pray. Love you all.

When death of a loved one comes I..............

God morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!!!

When someone dies we tend to mourn.  Why?  First, if you know they have professed to be a child of God, why would we mourn?  Is it because we are selfish and don't want them to go to a better place called heaven?  NO, because we are feeling the void they left when being called home.  Yet, it should be, as many do now, a CELEBRATION OF LIFE!
I would say if they don't know God and have not accepted Jesus as their personal savior I would be saddened.  Yet, it is important to remember, the choice is his or hers whether to accept Jesus or not.  This burden lies not with you, but with him or her.  Also, we cannot walk around in sorrow saying what more could I have done.  Plant the seed is all the father asks us to do. God will water, germinate it, and help it grow.
Remember Jeremiah 29: 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity
Let me mention about bring back from captivity.  To me this means we are captive while living humanly in this world which the prince of the world, aka satan rules.  Once we leave this human body and begin to live spiritually with God then we are not longer held captive.  Hope this makes sense to you, it does to me.
John 15: 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
This is what Jesus did for you, for me, for everyone in the world.  Jesus came not to condemn the world, but to save the world.  The choice is ours. Thanks for reading. Love you all.

Who are you? Really? A child of God Galatians 3:26

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Who are you, really?  We often respond I am a:  teacher, banker, mom, dad, electrical, plumber, salesman, politician, doctor, and on and on.  But, IS THAT WHO YOU REALLY ARE?
The world is full of hypocrisy and lies and not being REAL with our selves.  Well, I know I am Burl and Aletha's son.  Really?  Yes, they are the humans that raised me, but is that who I really am?
I am a child of God. Click link to hearGalatians 3:6 For you are all sons (daughters) of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
You are indeed precious and a child of God.  So, my friend, walk boldly, upright yet humbly and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.  Thanks for reading. Love you all.

National Day of Prayer

Good morning all.  God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!

Today is the National Day of Prayer.  We definitely need prayer by all Christians.  WE ARE PRAYER WARRIORS!   God hears our prayers and we must now, as no other time in history of the USA pray.  What threatens us is the Liberal movement, the Socialist attitude, the LBGT movement, the Critical Race Theory, Islamist ideals, the Communist/Marxist movement, the WOKE movement.
Take time to pray that God intervenes and that America and the world will once again come back to GOD and HIS ways.  Pray please, prayer is powerful!!!
Matthew 6: In this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name.

10 Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory for ever. Amen.

Love you all,

Johnny

a Good father

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  He is a good good father!!!!(Chris Tomlin's song)

Here is James 1: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him.
Okay, if we, Christians, lack wisdom all we have to do is ask our father, GOD. He freely and willingly gives wisdom to us.  Just ask and receive, however........
But let him ask in faith, never wavering; for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
Notice, we must ASK IN FAITH, and what?  NEVER WAVERING!!  What? Why would James say this?  Because, if we waver like a wave of the sea, then we move side to side, and due to circumstances we may walk in the world, then back to walking with the LORD.  We are told NO, we are not to do so.  Be strong in faith and never wavering neither left nor right, but a straight walk with GOD.
For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.
The man who walks not in faith, not walking with the LORD shall not receive wisdom as he/she has not fully committed to GOD.
Where are you today?  Fully committed?  I will pray for you and ask your prayers as well.  Today was a day I realized I love the LORD, but have not fully committed to HIM.
I want to, then something happens and I grab it and try to run with it instead of taking time to pray, asking for wisdom in the situation, and moving forth from there.  I need to say to myself:  Stop, get back, let the Holy Spirit do HIS work and just follow HIS lead.
Thanks for reading. Love you all.
