Results of Sin!! Genesis 3:22-24

 Good morning all. Sorry for being AWOL and not getting back to the devotionals.  GOD is good all the time, all the time GOD is good.  You, my friend are blessed to be living in a country where you can freely worship the living GOD.

  Think about this. What if you lived in your dream home, placed in the perfect place you would like to be where there was only 1 simple rule.  Where there were no worries, no problems, and you were treated like royalty.  Your every need taken care of. No need to worry about food, money, care of the property, repairs, or anything.  The lap of luxury.

  Then one day you made a mistake as you chose to ignore the one simple rule.  Wham! Now you are banned from the house, the lap of luxury and you will have to work and toil for the rest of your days.  You are now is a small shanty, killing weeds and trying to scratch out a living to survive. That had to be a miserable feeling.

   Well, the first example of this was Adam and Eve.  They were told 1 simple rule - do not eat of the fruit of the tree of good and evil.  But, enticed, the fruit looked yummy and then...........

   Genesis 3: 22 And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

  If Adam and Eve had done what God said they may have been immortal.  Now they are mortal and will die one day.  Why?  Because, They could no longer eat from the TREE OF LIFE because they violated God's rule of not eating of the tree of good and evil!  That  is why the Cherubim and a flaming sword was placed there to guard it.

   Where are you today friend?  Following God's will or doing your own thing.  What will be the consequences of your actions.  We see the consequences of Adam and Eve's actions --- SIN!! BANISHED! THROWN OUT!  Think about this for a moment.

Do not entertain false teachers, but witness to them. Jude 12-16

 Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  SHARE YOUR FAITH WITH SOMEONE TODAY SO YOU BOTH MAY BE BLESSED!!!!

   We have to beware of false teachers.  Well, it is okay to go to a strip bar.  It is okay to have an affair as long as no one knows. it is okay to cuss using very profane words.  It is okay to drink to excess and get drunk.   It is okay to do drugs, it does not affect others.  And we could go on and on.  Okay to lie, cheat, steal, or do other illegal things.

   These are all false teaching of the ungodly.  They see nothing wrong with many of the above actions.  You only live once, so have a "good" time.  REALLY????

   We have to be cautious of these people.  Do we avoid them?  NO!  Just meet them in a different environment, maybe coffee, tea, lunch---but not in the hidden evil places.  Jude tells us to beware of the false teachers.  Below is his message about false teachers.  Please take time to read and absorb----I SAY  READ AND ABSORB!!!

Jude 12-16  New International Version

12 These people are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm—shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted—twice dead. 13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.

14 Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”[a] 16 These people are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.

Romans 15::13 Be the Jesus others can see

 Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!!!!

  Have you ever been walking through a store, down a street, or even driving and suddenly you felt that you should offer something to a person in your vision?

   It may be a kind word, a helping hand, a prayer, or even money.  You don't know why that feeling or urge just hit you.  Maybe it was the Holy Spirit urging you to action.  When it happens what do you do?

   Say to yourself oh that's just my mind playing tricks on me, or wonder why I thought that, and then you take no action.

    Are you acting on your resistance, and refuse to think the Holy Spirit may be urging you to action?

   This has happened to me before, suddenly I do something for someone, pray with him/her; pay for something, offer a kind word or maybe a helping hand. Later you wonder why you did it.  Then realize that the Spirit was there urging you on.

  Romans 15::13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

   This verse or prayer is for believers so we may be filled with the joy and peace as we walk in trust of the LORD.  This allows us to show and share the hope we have through the power of the Holy Spirit.

   May your steps take you to a place the LORD wants you to do HIS work today. Thank you for reading, Love y'all.

2 Corinthians 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may be recompensed for the things done in his body, according to what he has one, whether it be good or bad.

Where are you today, yesterday, and tomorrow? In the flesh or in the spirit?

 Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

I listened to a preacher that said if you read the Bible it is only printed words on a piece of paper.  At first I thought what are you talking about?  Then, as he goes on he explains that so often we just "read the words on a sheet of paper" and then later cannot recall what we read.

   This is what he is talking about.  The Bible is not a holy word of God if you only "read it" and do not absorb it.  When we read the Bible we need to look at each word, think about what the author is saying, and be aware that this is the Holy Word of God.

   Often I equate it to the Lord's prayer.  So often it is recited with no concern of what it is really saying.  We just do it out of memory with no true thought.

   To really understand God's Word we need to live in the spirit and not in the flesh. Don't just "read" the Bible, but study it.  Well, I don't really understand what it is saying, I could not remember the chapter I just read.  Then don't read a chapter. Just do a few verses and let the spirit give you the meaning.  Let the spirit lead you.  You don't have to read the whole Bible in a year because so many others brag about doing so.  Read what God intends for you to know and absorb.  Whether it be 1, 2 verses or a chapter.  Just let the spirit lead.  Don't let others interpret the Bible for you, check their words against the Bible and see if what they are saying is true.  Again, let the spirit lead you.

   Romans 8: 5Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the spirit have their minds set on what the spirit desires.  6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace.

    There are plenty of "scammers" out there.  To take your money, and if you are led by the flesh you will let the "Christian scammers" clean you out as well.  You know the routine, just send in $1000 for this prayer cloth and your troubles will go away. You will be blessed and prosper greatly.  Beware of the false teachers, the antichrists.

   Take time to pray, be faithful to the LORD and trust the Holy Spirit to guide you. Love y'all.  Thanks for reading my little rant today.

Will or Can you be the unknown USHER???

 Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

The unknown usher, quite an interesting piece of history that I did not know until just a few days ago.

Mordecai Ham was an American Evangelist born in 1877.  He was credited with leading over 300,000 people to conversion to Christianity.

In Charlotte, North Carolina, 1934  Ham was holding a tent revival and 2 young  boys came by to see why all the people and the commotion was about.  When they looked inside the seats looked to be all taken and they decided to walk on.

Well, an usher, whom we do not know the name of, rushed over to the boys and told them to come back and he would find them a place to sit.  The usher asked people to move together and the boys were able to sit together and listen to Mordecai Ham preach.

During this process both boys went forward and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior.  The one boy we all know as Billy Graham, who was one of the greatest evangelists of the 20th century.

Grady Wilson also was an American evangelist. He was a childhood friend and close associate of Billy Graham.  He served as the inaugural vice president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Mordecai Ham was credited with bringing over 300,000 people to conversion and many estimated a million or more.  Billy Graham was credited with bringing the message to over 200 million people worldwide with many conversions. Grady Wilson left his pastoral position to join the original Billy Graham Evangelist Association team, working alongside Billy in the conversion of lives.

When you think of these men you think what an impact they had on the world. Ham did so much; Graham spreading the word to millions with Wilson by his side.  However, they were not the most impactful people.

The one who made the biggest impact was the silent, unknown usher at Mordecai's tent revival who brought 2 teenage boys in to hear the gospel and accept Jesus Christ as their savior.  

It was the silent unknown act that made the impact on the world.  Are you  OR can you be that silent unknown usher?  It only takes a spark to start a forest fire. May it be you.

Psalm 103 The Love of God

 Good morning friend. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. YOU are truly LOVED by the Almighty GOD!!!

    The world is topsy turvy at this time.  If you read and study your Bible you can say it is bad, yet good.  The end times are coming closer and we will see Jesus sooner.

   The man who rammed his car and set fire to the church in Michigan.  Then 3 people killed and 5 injured in a waterfront restaurant in North Carolina.   Yet there is more in the news if you want to search it out.  And we say, "What is wrong with these people?"

   Satan is alive and well and roaming to seek, kill, and destroy.   We, you and I, must stand guard and be firm in the LORD at all times.

    We need to be faithful and strong in the face of adversity.  God is our strength. Prayer is our line directly to the LORD.  The love of the LORD is strong and we are his children.

  Psalm 103: 8The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. 9He will not always accuse nor will he harbor his anger forever; 10 He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.  11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

   God loves us unconditionally and we need to be obedient to his word.  Pray for those who are mentally deranged and choose to take the lives of others, or just to create chaos.  We can stand strong in the LORD, fear the LORD, but also rejoice in the LORD.

   We need to love our fellow man as God loves us. Show compassion, concern, and be there to help a fellow man, help lift him/her up from the depths of despair and drudgery.
