Acts 8:12-13 And then there came Philip

Good morning to all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO COMPLAIN!
Okay, yesterday we talked about Simon the sorcerer who swayed Samaria.   Let us continue on in Acts 8: 12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
Philip, one of the apostles, arrives in town (Samaria).  He began preaching about Jesus and the kingdom of God.  Then, the people who were bewitched by Simon the Sorcerer came to know the LORD as saviour and were baptized.  Philip;s word was the TRUE WORD OF GOD!  This is what we MUST share as we go out.
Acts 8: 13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
Notice in here it says Simon himself believed, he was baptized, and continued with Philip and WONDERED!  This is the key word.  It casts doubt on Simon's true conversion.  He shows no sign of repentance, no confession of sin, and "wondered" and as we go on "beholding the miracles and signs which were done".
Apparently Simon wanted the secret of Philip's power.  His concern seemed to be to get close to Philip and learn the secret of how Philip was able to heal the sick and do miracles.  What he did not realize, because he was just going through the motions, was that the secret was Jesus Christ and being a disciple of His.
So, now, this Samaria, which was the site of the Jewish church, did they have a real conversion or was it.........?????  It may be time to investigate.  Tomorrow how will we find out if it is true conversion.  Thank you for reading. Love you all
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
