When we walk, we do like to see where we are going. Therefore, light is good; on the other hand, when we walk in darkness there is a strong chance we will stumble. This is what our Christian walk is like. When we walk in the light of Jesus Christ we may stumble occasionally when we take our eyes off him, but with HIS guiding light we can see.
Satan desires us to walk in darkness and feeds us lies and fears. Satan and his demons enjoy, maybe even love to see Christians sin in a BIG way. This we do if we let fear or lies invade us - this is walking in darkness.

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
