You are able to read chapters 9-14 by yourself. If you wish not to read, but to listen click here on Hosea 9-14.
God is responding through Hosea and telling the people how they had prostituted their belief in God through the Baal's of the Gentiles. Chapter 13: 9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
The people are being reminded by God that in and of themselves they will destroy themselves and the only means of help in any way is through GOD.
The Assyrians, Egyptians, Philistines, and any other ".....ites" are not help. The only help is through the living God.
How oft doth we fail to remember this easy, simple, yet complicated fact. So often we tend to want to work for what we have, putting all our confidence in self and failing to remember WHO has made everything possible.
I am the first to raise my hand and say, no, yell -- GUILTY! May we all remember verse 9 except change it slightly: O Johnny, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
Thank you for reading with me today. I don't mean to cut Hosea short, however, it repeats the same story and then the response from God. Ye, ole wicked people hath fallen away; you help is in God! Have a wonderful and blessed day and weekend. Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
