Are you indifferent, apathetic, or fired up for the LORD? Mark 4:1-20

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!!!

You know the parable of the seed that falls on 4 types of soil.  Let us look at what Jesus says first:  Mark 4:  “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”
In verses 14-20 Jesus explains this quite well what is meant.  A little excerpt from me, then Jesus' words.  Often when we read this passage we think it relates to 4 different kinds of people; however, I can see it relating to YOU and to ME and the different phases or seasons we go through.
First you see the seeds on the path - this may be us when we first accepted Christ and was not sure what to do.  Some fell on stony or rocky places where it could not take root well. It germinated quickly but then died.   Some fell among thorns or weeds, which will choke out the seed or crop.  But what fell on GOOD SOIL came up and produced a crop and multiplied.
This may be us in our Christian walk.  How often do we hear and then go another way?  How often are we fired up and go forth with great gusto only to die out quickly?   How often do we let the people around us "choke out" our fellowship with Christ.  Then, finally, when we realize, we become well rooted in the word and follow Jesus Christ, spreading the Good News to others and this word multiplies, thanks be to God.
Jesus says it best here in verses 14-20:  14 The farmer sows the word. 15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. 16 Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. 20 Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”
So often we become indifferent due to LIFE, and push Jesus Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit aside.  I challenge you today to push aside the indifference that life is pushing your way and spend time in prayer, with Jesus, with God, be led by the Holy Spirit.  See how that feels.  Put SELF away and lift up your SPIRITUAL BEING to be what God wants you to be.
Thank you for reading. Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
