1 Peter 1: 3-5

God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!  Good morning to you all.  Jesu Jevu! Jesus help!  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Let us see what Peter is saying here; not just read, but understand.  Peter is blessing God the Father and cannot give Him enough praise.  Abundant Mercy: it is hard to even imagine what this term contains - abundant mercy - this is from God to us, sinners, who deserve nothing.
This is "begotten us again" or in other terms we are born again, we have a new beginning, another chance to be in fellowship with God.    HOW?  How did this come about? "a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead" - this is a living hope translated into ETERNAL LIFE.  So, we are born again, and will have eternal life.GREAT! What is the difference?
The difference is that we have a living God. Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead, and because God gave us His Son that we may have eternal life we are born again into the family of GOD.  This 'lively hope' is not like many things we "hope for", but a living, non-perishable hope.  This hope will not fade away; it remains. To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,--- this is not an inheritance of gold, silver, property, wealth, or material things. What our inheritance is cannot grow old, mold, fade away or leave us-- our inheritance is reserved in heaven and probably too great an inheritance for Peter to describe.
If we gain wealth it will soon be gone; property - eventually sold; but what God has in store is beyond anything we could possibly imagine.  What a blessing!!!!   This paragraph sums it all up:
Who are kept by the power of God through faith: The promise of our inheritance is certain, because we are kept by the power of God, ensuring that we will endure through faith until the coming of Jesus.
There is not power greater than God; we have to have faith; and then in the end we will go to our home in heaven with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit:  the Trinity.  Hallelujah!  Love you all.
Soli Deo Gloria
Johnny
