1 Peter 3:21-22 Does Baptism only save?

Hello all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!  Jesu Jevu!
1 Peter 3: 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
Okay, this is very confusing and mystifying to read on the surface.  I will try to piece together what several "experts" claim it means.  Here, when it says "even baptism doth also now save us" I firmly believe this is not necessarily speaking of water baptism only; that you do not need to accept Jesus Christ as your savior.  It is the spiritual reality behind the immersion in water. Why are your receiving baptism?  Because Jesus Christ died for me.
The blue letter bible says: (and I quote) "The external participation of baptism will save no man without an answerable good conscience and conversation. There must be the answer of a good conscience towards God." And what is this?  It is salvation through Jesus Christ.  Notice the end of verse 21.
Now this next verse begins referring to Jesus (by the resurrection of Jesus Christ):
22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Who has gone into heaven?  JESUS CHRIST!   Who is sitting at the right hand of God?  JESUS CHRIST!
Who are the angels, authorities and powers subject to? JESUS CHRIST!
SOOOOOO!   Please let me have your feedback. Love you all.
Soli Deo Gloria
Johnny
