5 For
after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in
God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
6 Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
Okay, this is telling women to submit to their spouses; this does not mean to be a push over or do something that is against God's will. But wives should listen and be open to what their husbands request, IF, he is a Godly man and following God. (This is strictly my opinion). The man is meant to be the spiritual leader of the household.
Unfortunately, today, the father or male role model is absent from the household. Husbands are to GIVE HONOUR to their wives since husband and wife are one and are heirs to grace of life. In doing so, their prayers will surely be heard. Husband and wife should have compassion for one another, be like-minded, be sympathetic, and humble.
Would you fit the billet for these verses in 1 Peter? Where are you in your relationship with (1)God; (2) Spouse? Love you all. (p.s. this is all Johnny's interpretation)

this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God
used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own
husbands, 6 like
Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her
daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear.
7 Husbands,
in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat
them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the
gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
