Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.
What are we to do with the Word of God? We are to share and spread the
Good News daily, all the time, wherever we go. This is what the
disciples did? Oh, yes, but we can argue they were called and picked by
Jesus to do this. Sooo? Are you not picked by Jesus to be a believer,
a follower, a disciple?
Yes, but it was different in those
days. And to all this argument I say poooey and foooey! The disciples
went forth, daily, constantly, look at Acts 5:
42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.
Yes, day after day, from house to house, never stopped
teaching and proclaiming the good news that JESUS IS THE MESSIAH! Does
this tell you something?
So, what was the result? Well, let us look at Acts 6: 1
And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied,
Because of their constant teachings, the number of
disciples was multiplied. Is this not our calling? Oh, yes, but many
will have the Moses affliction - uh, I don't speak well; I don't know
the Bible well enough; I can't talk to people; I have trouble opening a
conversation with people I don't know, etc.. Bunk! BUNK!
Notice
in the above statements they all begin with "I"; it is not about "I",
but about Jesus and letting the Holy Spirit lead. Pooey on the lame
arguments.
But then notice, this is what happens in our churches, in our spiritual lives today. Acts 6:1.................
there arose a
murmuring of the Grecians (Hellenists) against the Hebrews, because
their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
Now, discourse arises among the congregation. Because of their
successful teachings (Acts 5:42) there has come an overload for the
apostles, making it difficult to care for the common fund of people
(widows).
Satan is using the Grecians or Hellenists (Jewish Christians whose
mother tongue was Greek) to disrupt and come against the apostles. Now
understand too, that the apostles were Hebraic Jews, which also created a
conflict. The accusations here were that the Hebraic Jews were not
taking care of the Grecian widows, ensuring their food baskets were of
plenty.
This is when the apostles call together the community and point out that these distractions are taking away from
their calling, the ministry of the word of God.
So, now what happens? We will continue here tomorrow. However, I
would like for you to take the time to investigate and see what takes
you away from YOUR MINISTRY of the WORD of GOD. Thank you for reading.
Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
