Happy Valentine's Day!

Good morning and may your Valentine's Day be wonderful and safe. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

There are several stories about how valentine's day began.  Some say it is a pagan celebration, but, it seems, most believe in the story of St. Valentine, who under Claudius II continued to perform marriages, even though Claudius II had made marriages illegal.  Why would this Roman emperor make marriages illegal?  Because he believed that single men made better soldiers than married men.
St. Valentine, who was performing marriages secretly, was found out and placed in prison.  Claudius had ordered Valentine be put to death. According to one legend, an imprisoned Valentine actually sent the first “valentine” greeting himself after he fell in love with a young girl—possibly his jailor’s daughter—who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter signed “From your Valentine,” an expression that is still in use today.
So, it is not a pagan celebration, but one from a Catholic Priest.  So, today, celebrate valentine's day with your loved ones and remember Jesus' commandment to "LOVE ONE ANOTHER"!
Thanks for reading. Love you all and happy valentine's day.  
In Christ's Love and Grace
