Life like a river! John 7:38

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
Have you ever stopped to think your life, my life, everyones lives are like a river.  A river does not begin strong, just as our life begins with a seed and sperm.  A river may generate from a simple spring and begin to flow.  This is the headwaters of the river.  As the river begins to flow it increases as other springs join it, these are called tributaries.
Understand all rivers are different, you may have the mighty Mississippi River or the tiny Mud Creek; but they are still rivers.  Some rivers flow when it is the rainy season, some flow year round.
A river never passes the same place twice.  Oh, yes, you may go back into your home you have had for years, but each time you enter it is a different time and all is not the same as it was before. You are older, the clock keeps ticking.
A river takes the path of least resistance; so if a boulder is in the way, it goes around, it may splash off the boulder, but it is trying to go around.  Also, the path may change, the rivers banks do not remain the same; they do change.
The banks of the river are fertile, growing vegetation.  It is rich soil and brings forth new life.  Then it comes to the mouth (not an end) and at the mouth of the river it flows out into a larger body of water, sharing its new fresh water.
Think about your life in Christ, in God.  HE knew you before you were conceived -he was there at the headwaters.  You were but a spring, nothing but a mass of humanity.  Then you began to grow, taking in tributaries.  Gathering knowledge from around you.  This knowledge, or tributaries begin to create in you the person you are today.  Some rivers flood, go over their banks and cause devastation; some provide a source of life and joy.  The path of the river is determined by the effects of nature.  The path of your life is determined by the decisions you make.
Some will be mighty rivers of God, i.e. Billy Graham; yet some will be rivers of devastation (satan), i.e. Madeline Murray O'Hare and be destructive, overflowing their banks.
As we flow through life, we, as a river gain new sources (tributaries), our banks change, and all this brings fresh new ideas and understandings to us.  These tributaries also make us stronger as we go.  As we flow, our banks, which are fertile, should be shared with others and create a new life and joy for them. Again, our banks may change to reach out to others in need as we flow. These are the seeds of faith we share.
Then at the end of our journey (mouth) we flow, or share the Good News of Jesus Christ with all around us (of course, as the Spirit leads).  The mouth of the river shares all it has with the greater masses; as should we as Christians.
As we pass through life we never pass the same place twice.  In that journey we need to be certain we have shared the fertile word of God with all who come in contact with us.
John 7:38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'"
Revelation 22:1  Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
Thank you for reading. Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
