Paul and Silas, doing God's work, the fortune teller who is making money for some corrupt men has the demon in her cast out. Now the owners, the corrupt men, are upset and causing a stir. Why? Because they are losing money. She cannot predict the future any longer.
Sooo, they create an uproar in the city by "twisting" facts. (sounds like our politicians today) The crowd gets upset. Whoa! Look out now! WHAT IS HAPPENING???
ACTS 16: 22 The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. 23 After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully. 24 When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.
Not a good day for Paul and Silas. Doing God's work and then stripped and beaten. And prison too?? Not just prison, but the INNER CELL and feet in STOCKS.
They must have really been afraid of these two men. Well, they should because God is on their side. So, now in prison----oh, what to do??? This we will see tomorrow.
Always do the right thing. Things may happen but all will end well if we follow God's lead. Thanks for reading. Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
