30 days with Jesus (day 3) Jesus is baptized by John the Baptist

Good morning all.  God is good all the time, all the time God is good. How are BLESSED today?  One, Jesus is your saviour- need more be said?
Well, Elizabeth and Mary were major figures in my and your salvation.  First came the voice in the wilderness; then came the Jewish Messiah.
Well, John the Baptist was a very unusual individual.  And he was definitely his own person, albeit, guided by GOD.  John fulfilled the prophets saying:
“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
    make straight paths for him.’”
Now John was not the usual man, he wore clothing of camel's hair, a leather belt about his waist, and ate locust and honey.  Here was a very different man, yet people flocked to him from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and the region.  He had something special.
John was bold; when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to see who he was baptizing he called them a "brood of vipers" or snakes.  He says they claim to be of Abraham and tells them God could bring up children of Abraham from the stones.  Further more he states an axe will cut down a tree that does not produce good fruit and be thrown into the fire.  Wowee!  John called the Pharisees and Sadducees as he saw them, AND as they were - selfish and self centered caring for themselves only.
John says he baptizes with water, but there is one to follow that he is not worthy to loose his sandals and will baptize with Holy Spirit and fire.  Also, think about what he says here:
12 His winnowing fork is in his hand,
and he will clear his threshing floor,
gathering his wheat into the barn and
burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
Then Jesus came from Galilee to be baptized by John, but John tried to change it by saying he, John, needed to be baptized by Jesus.  Then Jesus spoke to John saying: “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.”

At this time John complied and baptized Jesus, upon Jesus coming up out of the water the spirit of God came as a dove descended upon him and a loud voice from heaven was heard to say:

“This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Jesus and John were obedient to God.  Don't you pray that you will hear a voice speaking to you saying: "Well done my good and faithful servant"?  Tomorrow Jesus goes to public ministry.  Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
p.s. this is not a dove but the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.
