Good morning to all my wonderful Christian brothers and sisters. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. BLESSED!
My 6 year old grandson likes the song "Fear is a liar", and when you
listen and meditate on this line it is so true. Satan casts "doubt
darts" at us and one of those darts is labeled FEAR! How do we overcome
- JESUS!!!
The Sermon on the Mount is Jesus' longest
speech and teaching in the New Testament, and occupies chapters 5, 6 and
7 of the Gospel of Matthew. ... The setting for the sermon is given in Matthew 5:1-2. Jesus sees the multitudes, goes up into the mountain, is followed by his disciples, and begins to preach.
Sermon on the Mount - if you click on the link you can read the complete sermon. It begins with the Beatitudes
(click and take time to read please); moves to Salt and Light,
fulfillment of the Law, murder, adultery, divorce, oath, eye for eye,
love your enemies, giving to the needy, prayer- which is the LORD's
prayer we all need to heed and meditate on, not just say from rote
learning: here is what Jesus said-
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the
kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Then Jesus goes on to talk about fasting, storing up treasures, do not
worry, judging others, ask-seek-knock which many of us recite:
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
He goes on with narrow and wide gates, true and false
prophets, true and false disciples in Matthew 7 should shake us all to
re-evaluate our relationship with Jesus Christ as it says:
21 “Not everyone who says to me,
‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on that day,
‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name
and in your name drive out demons
and in your name perform many miracles?’
23 Then I will tell them plainly,
‘I never knew you.
Away from me, you evildoers!’
Jesus ends with the wise and the foolish - speaking of where do you
build your house? On the rock or on the sand? I trust we all have
built our houses on the ROCK of JESUS CHRIST and in doing so follow the
lead of the HOLY SPIRIT.
A lot of information today, but
well worth taking the time. If not now, please do so later. My prayer
for you and me is: LORD, let us all be humble before you, yet bold in
sharing the precious words of Jesus to the peoples of the earth. May we
do work to bring honor and glory to you and you only LORD. Our prayer
is that in the end you will meet us at the bema seat and say, "Well done
my good and faithful servant." Thank you Jesus for carrying our sins to
the cross and your blood has us all covered. To GOD be the glory for
ever and ever. Amen."
Love you all. May your day be blessed beyond your wildest imagination.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
