30 days with Jesus (day 5) - Jesus calls his disciples

Good Sunday morning to you all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  We are truly BLESSED!  There is no Auschwitz, no Hitler; however, we do need to arm ourselves with the word as we have abortions, atheists, and people violating God's laws constantly.  Let us constantly be in prayer and take decisive action where needed.
Okay, in Luke 5:1-11; 6:12-16; and John 1:35-51 Jesus calls his disciples.  When we grow up in the church we are told Jesus "picked" 12 disciples and we hear where he did in scripture, however, as Paul Harvey would say: "Now, for the rest of the story!"
Jesus had many disciples, or if you will, people that followed him and believed.  However, if you read Luke 6:12-16 you will see that Jesus went up to a mountain side and prayer all night to God. (How long is your prayer time?), then " he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, notice the term  discipleS - plural.
Then what did Jesus do after choosing the twelve?  He not longer called them disciples but whom he also designated apostles:  Yes, there was a distinction between disciples and apostles.  Webster tells us an apostle is  : one of an authoritative New Testament group sent out to preach the gospel and made up especially of Christ's 12 original disciples and Paul.
By this definition I firmly believe we are disciples of Jesus Christ and should strive to be as diligent and dedicated as the apostles.  Do you share your belief in Jesus Christ daily? Multiple times daily? At least once a week?  Once a month?   If not daily - WHY???
I challenge you to speak to someone, anyone, each day for a week and see the reaction of yourself as well as others and note how you feel.  Now, can you name the original twelve apostles?
14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.
Yes, and some of you counted to see if I listed all twelve. LOL Later, Judas Iscariot hung himself and Jesus chose Paul on the road to fill the 12th position.
These 12 have created disciples down through the ages and we, you and I, are to continue to carry the wonderful word of JESUS CHRIST to peoples of the world.  Whether it be at home or abroad.  Go my friend, believe, share, believe, share and never stop. Love you all.  Tomorrow Jesus talks to a Pharisee and a Samaritan.
Thanks for reading. Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
