Was God in control? - Exodus 11 -

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!  Jesu Jevu!!!
May God give us all the wisdom and knowledge to go forth, walking with the Holy Spirit and bring glory to God.
Have you ever just stopped what you are doing and read about the Exodus and the plagues leading up to the Exodus?  Not just read, but absorb - today we are looking at Exodus 11 - (click to read)
At the start God speaks to Moses telling him there will be one more plague and after this Pharaoh will let the people go. He told Moses to tell the men an women to go to their neighbors and gather silver and gold.  Huh?  The Egyptians give up their valuables?  When God is in control anything will happen.
Exodus 11: And Moses said, Thus saith the Lord, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt:  (here comes the warning) And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. (here is what will happen, the first born of ALL shall die-----except.....)
And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more. (The Egyptians will be wailing with sorrow like never before heard)
But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel. (but wait, there is a twist coming, nothing will happen to the children of Israel; and, what? Dogs won't bark? Correct, dogs won't bark.  Now, there is a division, a separation between the Egyptians and Israel)
Then what happens?  Well, let us absorb what is happening to this point.
  1. The LORD spoke to Moses
  2. Told of 1 more plague
  3. Will tell Pharaoh and Israel be released
  4. In mean time, Israelites go to neighbors and get silver and gold
  5. Israelite's have favour in eyes of Egyptians
  6. Moses is great in this land
  7. Moses tells of the plague (death of firstborn)
  8. Great sorrow in Egypt
  9. Difference between Egyptians and Israelites by God
We'll pick up here tomorrow.  By the way, do you know how we know when Easter comes each year?  Keep reading this week and you will find out. Love you all.
Soli Deo Gloria
Johnny
