Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED! Jesu Jevu!
John, and just who is he? Is he the one who claims to have written Revelations? Was he even important?
Well,
John was one of the original 12 apostles; brother to James; and wrote 5
books in the Bible. He wrote John, the Epistles of John (I,II,III) and
Revelation.
John's father is Zebedee, a Galilean fisherman,
their mother was Salome.
Jesus called him and James, they left their careers as fishermen and
became His apostles. John had been a disciple of John the Baptist;
becoming followers of Jesus after Jesus was Baptized by John the
Baptist.
John was the "beloved disciple" of Jesus and
later was given the care of Jesus' mother, Mary. John also outran Peter
to the tomb; and he became one of the early leaders of the church, "the
Way". John and his brother James were called the "Sons of thunder" by
Jesus (
).
