1 Peter 2:1 Get your act together! Yes---YOU!

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!  Jesu Jevu!

   1 Peter 2:1 (KJV)  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

    1 Peter 2:1 (NIV) Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

   What is malice?  It is active ill will, the intent to harm.  So what are we to do with malice?  Lay it aside - huh- what does that mean?  It means to STOP doing what you are doing to harm others whether it be physical or mental.  STOP!!

    What is guile?  It is slyness or cunning - manipulating.  So you sneak around, slyly, working people to get what you want.  Well - STOP IT! Quite thinking only of self.

   Hypocrisies - well you know what this is. Hypocrisy is pretending to be what we are not; or to fake feelings we don't really feel; showing a sense of virtue.  So STOP being what you are not. It is all about self again. STOP IT!

   Envy - oh, wow, we could write a book about this.  This simply means we are discontent and have ill feelings about someone who does well.  We want what they have.  STOP IT!  Again, it comes down to being all about you.

   Oh, evil speakings!  Wow!  This has been so prevalent during and after our past election.  Evil is morally bad or wrong, harmful, injurious to others.  Speaking is the utterance of words or communication with others.  Tell wrongful and harmful things about others and we are to STOP IT!

    Man, oh man, if this or one of these does not slap you in the face you are pretty perfect.  How many of these do we do in a day, a week, or a year?  Wow! Just admiring and wishing you have that other person's car, job, home, or whatever is bad.  Then working through actions and/or words to acquire what they have?  No, No, No!
