1 Peter 2:18-20 Let all you do be acceptable to God

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!  Jesu Jevu!
1 Peter 2: 18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.  Remember, Peter is talking to people who were in bondage who had good masters and bad masters.  They were to be obedient and work to do their best. So, must we. Some of us today have good bosses and some bad bosses; yet, as a professing Christian we should strive to do our best.
19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.  Peter is saying this is a good thing, when we remember God and we endure suffering unjustly.  In 1 Peter 3:14 Peter tells us if we suffer for righteousness' sake we will be blessed.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.   What this verse is saying, for the most part is it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is God's will, than for doing evil.
Often in the ancient days, the Israelites were in bondage or slavery and when not in slavery they were looked down upon because of their God.  After Jesus, the Christians were looked down upon, scoffed at, and chastised for not paying homage to the pagan gods.
As we traverse the hills of life, it is important and necessary for us to remain focused on God, our saviour Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. We can become overrun with the evil and moral decomposition of the world; or, we can see through glasses of reality and keep God first in all we do or don't do.
Hope this makes sense to you all. Remember, life is like a chess game; you have to THINK before you move. Love you all.
Soli Deo Gloria
Johnny
