1 Peter 2:6-8 A message from God!

Hello my fellow Christians!  God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!  Jesu Jevu!
What is a message from God?  The prophesies of old AND of new.  However, the prophets of the old testament were given prophesies to share with the people.  Let's look at 1 Peter 2:                                For in Scripture it says:  “See, I lay a stone in Zion,
                                                 a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him

will never be put to shame.”
7 Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
                                                                         “The stone the builders rejected
                                                                           has become the cornerstone,”
8 and,   “A stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall.”
They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.

These verses first say that God will send Jesus. However, they would not accept Him.  Zion is the name of the hill where the temple is and also another name for Jerusalem.  Now, remember from yesterday, when they laid a cornerstone it was perfectly square, flat, and designed so that the building would be perfectly square and the walls straight.
As a cornerstone is to show how straight and square a building will be; so also did Jesus come to show the Jews, then Gentiles, how they should act.  That their actions and behavior should reflect all Jesus was teaching and demonstrating to them.
Many people believe in God, yet not in Jesus.  As in verse 7 - the ones who accept Jesus, the stone is precious. But to those who do not accept Jesus, they have accepted the "faulty" cornerstone, or one rejected by the builders. I guess we could say a false God or belief.
Also, referring back to verse 6,  the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame-       Jesus will never let us down.  Only Jesus gives eternal life. People who choose not to follow Jesus will not be part of his spiritual house. They ‘trip’ and ‘fall’ when they refuse to receive Jesus. This means that they will not receive *eternal life.
Re-read that last line of verse 8 - they stumble because they disobey the message-which is also what they were destined for.  What are you destined for?  Do you know someone you need to share with that may change their destiny?  Love you all.
Soli Deo Gloria
Johnny
